So, where did our duck come from?

About Our Mascot

At first glance, the idea of a little yellow duck in red galoshes doesn't seem to have much to do with educational products, but we feel that the most important part of teaching our children is for them to feel safe and loved, and our little duck truly represents the desire we have to see all children happy and successful.

......Even when the rain is pouring down, .......life is good under this umbrella!

The Story...
...................................................................
In Kathleen Wiley's own words,

I had this image in my head of what I wanted...

but I couldn't seem to articulate it very well.....

"A duck skipping through the mud puddles" was all I was able to say....

But the artist ......................................... (SuZan Bolingbroke, of Rising Sun, Md.) said, "Well, let me see what I can come up with..."

OVERNIGHT SHE WORKED A MIRACLE!!!!

It was as if she had a camera into my brain!!! She pulled the exact picture out of my head.... and put it on paper...!!!!

It was so perfect I didn't change one feather.

SuZan has other art that may appear on this website....

and... cute as it will all be, I am sure.... NOTHING will ever compare with my duck..... It SPEAKS to me...

It resonates with everything that I am........... It says what I want to say....

May I make an analogy to adoption? ........... My baby was in MY heart........................... but came through someone else's pen..... Mine, nonetheless!!

Even with rain pouring down,........................ life is good under this umbrella!!!
